OUR STORY
Humble Beginnings
This simple yet powerful vision of “Love God, Love People, Follow Jesus” has been the guiding principle for North Church for over two decades. It all began with humble beginnings—on our first Sunday, just three people attended in the living room of Pastor Rodney and Shannon’s home, but that was enough to start something extraordinary. A third of the congregation got saved that day, a glimpse of the spiritual growth to come. We gathered in an apartment complex, local schools, a gymnastics facility, and eventually settled in our current Oklahoma City location. Each move reflected the growing needs of a church determined to make a lasting impact for God’s kingdom.
Each year, hundreds of people are baptized, and the numbers only tell part of the story. The heart of it lies in the transformed lives, restored hope, and the growing community of believers. Each week, North serves as a house of hope where people from all walks of life encounter the love of Jesus. North is one church with locations in Oklahoma City, Guthrie, Lexington Correctional Center, Mabel Bassett Correctional Center, Somos Bolivia, and an active online presence. Our reach extends beyond physical buildings, touching the lives of individuals across the state, nation and world, all unified under the mission to Build His Church.
